Hello from myself and Ethan! We pray this email finds you well. We love you and trust that this update connects our hearts to yours. In this quarterly update we’ll share about:

• Our First Discipleship Training School (DTS) Beginning

• Upcoming DTS Outreach to the Unreached

• Relationship Building through Sports

• Prayer Requests

It has been a BUSY and BEAUTIFUL few months as we press into the DTS and get ready for our outreach in December. Our bodies may be tired but our souls are awake and hungry for what God has for our family in this season. Thank you for your continued prayers and support which plays such a crucial role in the work God is doing here.

Our Discipleship Training School (DTS) Has Begun!

When I think about what lies at the heart of the DTS, I am brought to 1 Timothy 4. Paul, the apostle to the Gentiles, exhorts his “child in the faith” Timothy to faithfully disciple those that had been entrusted to him in Ephesus. Paul exhorts Timothy as follows:

“Train yourself for godliness… Command and teach these things. Let no one despise you for your youth, but set the believers an example in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith, in purity…Devote yourself to the public reading of Scripture, to exhortation, to teaching. Practice these things, immerse yourself in them, so that all may see your progress.” ‭

In this season, our days are filled with such training in godliness. This manifests itself both inside and outside of the classroom, as we engage in lecture, evangelistic outreach in Trang and simple church in our homes. The aim of the DTS is to disciple, equip and release our students into a life of genuine faith and following Jesus, knowing God and making Him known amongst those who have not yet heard the Good News of Jesus.

DTS Outreach

The second half of the Discipleship Training School is what we call “Outreach Phase.” For two months (December and January) the DTS students led by staff, will leave Thailand and go into another Unreached country to make God known, engaging in taking the Gospel to those who don’t have it. Students apply their training from lecture phase, learning in an important way by being doers of the Word, not hearers only. Outreach is focused on evangelistic ministry (50+ hours each week) done alongside of existing ministries and longterm workers.

Due to security concerns for our team and the longterm workers we will be serving with, we cannot publicly share the location of our upcoming DTS outreach, but if you would like to know more you can contact us directly.

Sports Ministry

Ethan continues to build relationships by playing basketball and pickleball. It has been such a great avenue for building bridges for the Gospel. Last week he played in one of Trang’s yearly tournaments and continues to build a pickleball community at the Stadium.

Prayer Requests

Our Lives in God

Psalm 111:1-1

. That we would know intimately, enjoy and glorify God, living devoted to His global purpose

Our Marriage

Colossians 1:9-14

. we would walk in sacrificial love and humility

. we would be used by the Lord to welcome the lost and hurting into the family of God

Abigail/Our Parenting

Psalm 119:73-77

. we may raise Abbie in the ways of the Lord

. she may know and love Him from an early age

. she may be learning to live under God’s loving authority and worship Him

Ethan’s Discipleship Training School

. this six months would be a blessed and consecrated time of deep intimacy with the Lord

. God may direct the next steps in ministry for Ethan and our family

Ephesians 2:14-19

YWAM Trang

. bring the Lord pleasure through obedience

. walk in unity and intimacy as a community, marked by fear of the Lord, humility, oneness of mind and joy

. the Lord would lead us as we establish ministries which may bear fruit in His timing

Thailand

. radically transformed by the power, peace and freedom of the Gospel

. the needed 1,271 pioneer workers needed to effectively reach Thailand would respond to the call and go and the Body would

. Thailand would become a great sending nation and used by the Lord to reach the unreached

Extended Family

. May all of our family grow in the knowledge of God, know His unending love for them, and come to a full and total surrender to His Lordship over their lives

. Protect the marriages and children in our family, may our future generations praise You and speed Your coming

Missional Community and Hospitality

. every individual and family on our street may hear the Gospel

. we would be given opportunities to encourage, bless and minister in our neighborhood and our other relationships in Trang

. that our hearts, hands and home may be ready to welcome in and share the love of Christ
